I just read an article on MSN Money about a guy that gets over $300 worth of products for his birthday!  That got me to thinking a little bit more about those free signups.  I like the idea mentioned in the article about getting an email address for just "birthday swag."

I am seriously going to try this......of course finding freebies redeemable in my little neck of the woods might be a little harder, but i do go into the "big cty" every now and again.

Ci Ci's has been a place for our school fundraisers and I was surprised to see that the buffet appeals to all ages!  You can still fill up with a salad and of course there is pasta and pizza.  A couple of dessert options like dessert pizza or cinnamon rolls paired with your choice of sweet tea or soda and you have a great cheap buffet!

I hope this is not your first CFL bulb.  I changed all of mine in the house but had to use the old standard in my reading lamp near the bed.  Anyway, I did notice a drop in electric usage.  Now if I could just get to doing other things to save on electric.

If you have not already done so, read my post about how I have charted my energy savings over the last few years.  Here is a link to the spreadsheet I use to follow electric usage.  You can see how after a while I plateaued and no longer have a savings.   I need to review it.

I have just started to use the free site www.mint.com to get a visual look at where the money goes and how it should be budgeted.

There are these staff members that buy lunch every day at school  That is $2.50 a day or $12.50 a week.  That is about $50 a month!!!!

Thankfully I have always done the Math and while most of the time we have left overs to bring, I can understand that if there are no leftovers- some might be buying it out of convenience.  It certainly has to be a convenience habit.  So let's be PROACTIVE and NOT REACTIVE.

Pop a few of these puppies in your desk, pair it with an apple and you are about $1.75.  I don't recommend this every day, but once a week would be great.  Also, try some lean cuisine meals in your rotation.  A diet program in your lunch bag!

Great sneaker (340 Running) deal for all of us that spend a lot of time on our feet and occasionally have time to run/walk.

Our local Wendy's is selling a "key fob" for $1 to benefit a local animal shelter called String of Pearls. Throughout the US they are selling these at their stores to benefit a variety of local organizations so check with your local Wendy's as to who the proceeds go to!



Your local Wendy's should have a flyer up at the drive through window showing that they are still selling them. Once they run out, that is all they have.
